The Noun Project is my go-to spot for icons and icon inspiration. Â You can buy icons for a small fee or use them royalty-free for non-paid work. Â Check out the license on each icon for details.
TNP is a great place to see how other icon makers have solved similar problems.  Even if I need to make a custom icon myself, I can find a help from the work of the designers who contribute to the site.
Lim Hong Kiat created a design blog which has turned into a staple for designers. Â His site features articles on tech, design, tutorials and inspirational content. Â For example, you’ll find articles like 50 Best Photoshop Tutorials of 2015 and technology articles on VR. Â The site is a good combination of tutorials, inspiration and news.
Cocoa is Apple’s native, object-oriented application programming interface (API) for Mac OS.  The Cocoa Controls website is a library of custom controls and views for iOS.  Think of it as a catalog of pre-coded interactions for apps.  Choosing a control from this site helps you collaborate with engineers because they can re-use code.  Find a control thab is close to what you imagine and give it to your engineer.  Or seek inspiration from the different controls in the library.
